[Landis Comment]  Syria is expecting change with Obama’s election. The Syrian people were overwhelmingly in favor of Obama. The Syrian leadership are Obama fans as well because he promises to draw down the US involvement in Iraq within the next two years, re-open regular US communication with Syria, and follow the recommendations of the Baker-Hamilton report, which stressed on the importance of resolving the Arab-Israeli conflict.

The Republicans tried to make fun of Barack Obama as a community organizer at their national convention in Minnesota, which I guess just goes to show how little Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have to fear from right-wing "humor."

Now they've gone further: Now they're attacking ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now), one of the strongest, hardest-working, most dedicated community organizations in both Chicago and in 40 states across the U.S.

Green Party Taps McKinney for President

As the Green Party wrapped up its convention here this weekend, former Georgia Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney accepted the party's presidential nomination. McKinney chose Rosa Clemente, a hip-hop artist, journalist and activist, as her running mate. "I choose to do this, not for me, but for my generation, my community and my daughter," she said.
