Top 50 drug "trips' in movies

Den of Geek! compiled their top 50 favorite movie scenes "where the effects of drug-taking are depicted." When possible, they've also embedded YouTube clips of the scenes (hence the slow load of the pages). Their top five scenes are from:

1. Rosemary's Baby

2. The Big Lebowski

3. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

How Dan Kaminsky broke and fixed DNS

Wired's Joshua A Davis has a great profile of my pal Dan Kaminsky's work on discovering and then helping to fix a net-crashing DNS bug earlier this year. Davis really captures the excitement of discovering a major security flaw and the complex web of personal, professional and technical complications that come to bear when you're trying to disclose the research in a way that minimizes harm to the net.

Dan does a lot of fun security-related stuff that doesn't get talked about in public.

Retro And Vintage Typography Showcase

Typography talks the talk, to go along with the overall work’s walk, speaking volumes for the artist. This important design element surrounds people daily as they move through their routines, rarely taking notice. It’s literally everywhere. In advertising, product packaging, printed publications, graphic designs, and more. Accentuating and centralizing the overall theme of the design that it inhabits, communicating the message to the masses through creative inclusions in the work.

Christopher Devine: Of No Fixed Address: Class Warfare

They won't even let us use the bathrooms, half these places. If we don't buy nothin'--even thought I'm a Vietnam vet--they tell me I can't use the bathroom. I fought the war for them, got shot four times, and I can't use a bathroom?

CLASS WARFARE

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr.: Attacks on ACORN Based Not on Facts, But on Fear of 1.3 Million Poor People Registering

The Republicans tried to make fun of Barack Obama as a community organizer at their national convention in Minnesota, which I guess just goes to show how little Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert have to fear from right-wing "humor."

Now they've gone further: Now they're attacking ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now), one of the strongest, hardest-working, most dedicated community organizations in both Chicago and in 40 states across the U.S.

Working Medeco high-security keys can be whittled out of plastic

Researchers at DefCon in Vegas have demonstrated that they can make "high security" Medeco key-blanks out of the plastic used in credit-cards, and then whittle them into working keys by referring to low-resolution photos of original keys.
